Students at Malcolm Arnold Academy all set for success after getting excellent GCSE results

Year 11 students at Northampton’s Malcolm Arnold Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust, are all on the path to future success after getting positive GCSE results this morning. Students and staff could not be more proud of the academy’s outstanding overall pass rate.
Nicola Koncarevic, Principal at Malcolm Arnold Academy said:
“I am particularly pleased with the increase in the number of students who gained strong passes in English and Maths. This means that more students can now access A Level courses. I am very proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our students. Our staff have high aspirations for all our students, and this is reflected in our results.”
Maths saw an 8% increase in students achieving grade 7 or above this year.
In Art, students did particularly well, with 74% achieving grade 5 and above and 18% achieving a grade 8 or 9. 27% of the GCSE Music students achieved grade 9, reaffirming the amazing work and achievements of the department this year.
Overall, Malcolm Arnold Academy has seen an improvement on last year’s results, with some star performances from a number of students.Daisy McConnell secured top grades, getting six grade 9s, two grade 8s, and a grade 7.
Another top performer, Damilola Akambi achieved four grade 9s, two Distinction* and an 8, 7, and a 6.
Alexandru Purcileanu who joined the academy in Year 10 from Moldova, has not only got to grips with the English Language but also achieved two grade 9s, two Distinctions, a grade 7, and a 6 and a 5 in his English GCSEs.
