Rising rugby stars supporting The Saints

Pupils at Malcolm Arnold Preparatory School, part of the David Ross Education Trust, had a wonderful opportunity to get onto the pitch with the Northampton Saints during their recent game with Sale Sharks at Franklin’s Gardens. The school’s pupils were the mascots for the game which saw The Saints win 67-17.

The boys and girls were excited to accompany the players during the run out onto the pitch and their day got better when they played their own game on the pitch during half time.

Rugby was introduced as an extra-curricular sports club at Malcolm Arnold Preparatory School in September last year. It has grown in numbers since starting and events such these inspire more students to take part and attend other sports clubs.

Simon Northcott, Headteacher at Malcolm Arnold Preparatory School, said: “Our school takes pride in actively encouraging pupils to get involved in all extra-curricular clubs, including sports clubs. Rugby, in particular, is a great game that teaches our pupils to act with valuable key qualities such as discipline and respect. Attending the Gallagher Game Day event was a huge motivator for pupils at Malcolm Arnold and has introduced them to a whole new world. They had a fantastic time joining their rugby heroes on the pitch and soaking up the atmosphere, so we couldn’t be more grateful to Gallagher for the opportunity.”
