Pupils at Cedar Road Primary School unveil artwork at Abington Medical Centre
Monday, June 4, 2018
Budding artists at Cedar Road Primary School, part of the David Ross Education Trust, have created their own pieces of artwork to add colour to a local doctor’s surgery.
Pupils have been busy decorating canvasses during an after-school art club to help promote healthy lifestyles, which are now on display at Abington Medical Centre.
As part of the project, pupils focused on the important elements of maintaining a healthy lifestyle including relaxation, exercise, healthy eating and sleeping well. Young artists then worked in groups to produce their final masterpieces.
Rebecca Steed, Headteacher at Cedar Road Primary School, said: “At Cedar Road Primary School, we encourage all pupils to lead healthy lifestyles, and this project has been a fantastic way for us to find out how we can keep fit and healthy.
“Not only has this project inspired our pupils to develop their artistic talents and explore creativity, but it has also allowed them to give back to the local community. Our pupils have produced some fabulous pieces and they all look fantastic on display.”
As part of the David Ross Education Trust, Cedar Road Primary School prides itself on offering a wide range of outstanding opportunities, where pupils are encouraged to develop their passions and discover their talents. Alongside providing academic excellence, building a strong community encourages pupils to leave school as well-rounded individuals and valued members of society.
