Year 3 pupils showcase their poetic skills

13 MARCH 2019: – Pupils at Malcolm Arnold Preparatory School, part of the David Ross Education Trust, have recently aired their poetic and presentation skills in a poetry recital for parents and staff held at the school. The pupils, aged seven and eight, performed to the audience of parents who were delighted at the progress each and every pupil made.

Year 3 pupils, who not only stood up in public and conquered their nerves but also committed a poem to memory, recited their chosen poems in front of a large crowd. The event was organised by Mr Northcott for pupils to support their development and improve their skills for later life.

Simon Northcott, Headteacher of Malcolm Arnold Prep School, said: “We are so proud of our Year 3 pupils, their courage and determination. It is amazing what you can do when you go outside your comfort zone and the pupils have showed just that. It’s fantastic to see our pupils developing in those areas as literacy and language are such important components of the curriculum. We will continue to organise such events as it shows that it is a great benefit to our pupils’ development.“
