Jane Hunt MP for Loughborough said:

“It was wonderful to see the new multi-use games area on my recent visit to Charnwood College which is a facility that can be used both by students as well as local residents. As we come out of lockdown, the importance of taking part in physical activity is crucial, so this facility is very welcome. This is the latest example of the significant levels of investment in the College over the past few years by the David Ross Educational Trust. I was also delighted to see the excellent teaching undertaken at the College.”

Alastair O’Connor, Principal of Charnwood College said:

“We are absolutely delighted to be unveiling this magnificent MUGA – we are very proud of our sporting prowess at Charnwood and with this latest investment, we have the facilities to match. Use of the pitches is already in full swing, and I can see that both we and the community are going to get brilliant use from them.”

Stuart Burns, Chief Executive of David Ross Education Trust said:

“Charnwood is a very special place for all of us at the David Ross Education Trust and Alastair and his team are leading the school from strength to strength. I’m delighted that we’ve been able to continue to invest in facilities at the school – over the last six years this has amounted to nearly £1.7m. The work to rejuvenate Charnwood College is not yet complete however, and we have exciting plans to further develop the school over the coming years. Watch this space!”
