A brand-new outdoor learning area has been unveiled at Eastfield Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust, where pupils will benefit from a number of new features to help them explore their surroundings.

The brand new development, which is open to all Nursery and Reception pupils at the primary school, features a number of grass sheep, musical chimes, an obstacle course, a wooden block hut and a gravel pit.

This innovative outdoor area has been designed to help create new outdoor learning opportunities that will inspire pupils and encourage further development.

Tracey Hamilton, Headteacher at Eastfield Academy, said: “This refurbishment has totally transformed our outdoor space.

“Through this exciting project, we have been able to create a huge number of opportunities for our pupils to enjoy learning and explore the outdoors.

“We are delighted with the final outcome for this space and we are already seeing some incredible benefits for our pupils. We cannot wait to see how the children continue to progress within their learning.”
