The David Ross Education Trust (DRET) is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Director of Education, Simon Rose.

Mr Rose joined the Trust at the start of the academic year as the Improvement Cluster Lead for primary academies, where he has made a very positive impact during this time. Over recent months, he has taken on the Director of Education role on an interim basis.

Simon has acquired almost 20 years’ experience of primary education and has a proven track record with school improvement through previous roles. He was seconded as Interim Director of Education for a Local Authority and also supported schools with Ofsted inspections.

Rowena Hackwood, CEO of the David Ross Education Trust, said: “Simon impressed in the interview process against a strong field, drawing on his track record before joining the network, as well as his more recent successes.

“This is a very important appointment for DRET, and I look forward to working with Simon on the next phase of the Trust’s development.”
