Grimsby’s Humberston Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust, has been awarded a prestigious Silver Artsmark Award for its commitment to the arts and cultural education.
Artsmark is the creative quality standard for school, accredited by Arts Council England. It provides a clear framework for teachers to plan, develop and evaluate arts, culture and creativity across the curriculum and beyond.
As part of the David Ross Education Trust, Humberston Academy aims to provide every student with a world-class education by focusing on delivering high standards of attainment and achievement, whilst raising confidence and self-esteem.
The Trust believes in an education that creates academically gifted, confident, well-rounded young people in the classroom, the workplace and in their communities.
Matt Watling, Principal at Humberston Academy, said: “Receiving the Artsmark Silver Award is a testament to the amazing work by our students and teachers in our art department.
“The Arts in our school is a significant part of life at Humberston Academy, and our students receive a world-class education that is second to none.
“Our students benefit from a wide range of outstanding opportunities through the Trust’s pioneering enrichment programme, which helps our students to explore their passions and discover their talents.”
