David Ross Education Trust Winter Cup video launched

For the students who competed at this year’s Winter Cup, they can now relive the action with the launch of the official video.

More than 1,000 secondary school students from across the David Ross Education Trust’ showcased their incredible sporting talents as they competed in a series of football and netball tournaments in a bid to secure the prestigious title.

A number of sports stars were in attendance to cheer on the students and provide them with valuable advice, including former England International footballer Sue Smith, and England Roses netball stars Britt Coleman and Rebekah Airey.

Following tense competition, Grimsby’s Humberston Academy were crowned the Winter Cup champions, whilst Northampton’s Malcolm Arnold Academy gained an impressive second place and Corby’s Lodge Park Academy came in at third place.

Rowena Hackwood, Chief Executive Officer at the David Ross Education Trust, said: “Events such as the Winter Cup provide an incredible sporting platform for our students to shine and encourage them to learn about the importance of commitment and determination.

“It was great to see our students competing with such pride and passion. It was particularly exciting to welcome students from our Bobby Moore Academy in London to their first ever Trust-wide sporting event.

“Many congratulations to all of the students who took part. It was fantastic to witness the sheer amount of talent we host across the Trust’s schools.”
